Spring Spain Retreat, Podcast for Parents and October Meditation Series

The last time I wrote I was just back from an inspiring personal retreat and a beauty-filled trip to Chicago to visit family, friends and an absolutely gorgeous city (I may be as much a Chicago girl as I am a mountain girl)!

After that, I dropped my oldest daughter off at college and am back home, transitioning into yet another life-stage. One of the things I love most about life is that there are just so many fun (and challenging) transitions, and new chapters!

And speaking of which, I love the fall. Even though I'm not in school anymore, it always feel like it's "back to school" time. I'm inspired to create new things and I love falling back into a routine - especially when it comes to my wellness practices which always seem to evaporate in the summer.

So I wanted to tell you about three great offerings! Scroll down to learn more.

1. Yoga + Nature + Culture in Southern Spain, March 17-23, 2025 - Registration is open!
2. A great new podcast episode: Understanding Teen Behavior and Mindfulness
3. Morning Meditation in September and an October Meditation Series

1. Spain Retreat, March 17-23, 2025

If you’ve been peeking at the webpage and considering this adventure, now is the time to register! All I can say about this experience is that it is pure magic. The mountains of Southern Spain are magic, the retreat center is magic, the food is magic, the local pueblos are magic and of course yoga and meditation always bring their own unique magic.

Here’s what one student had to say….

Rachel curated a perfect combination of stunning surroundings, cultural experience, and deepening your yoga practice and meditation. The whole retreat was grounding and transformative, full of the magic that makes Rachel’s yoga and meditation practice so unique. I am truly grateful.

2. A new podcast episode:

For all of you parents, teachers, caretakers and mentors of teens, I was honored to guest recently on the Teen Minds Redefined Podcast with Cheryl Pankhurst. It was such a fun conversation! I brought my expertise in the teenage brain, stress management, nervous system regulation, (and maybe most importantly, being a parent to 2 teenagers), to the conversation. I loved talking to Cheryl. She is super enthusiastic and has so much experience working with teens. If you are looking for a little support with your own teens, listen in and then take a deep dive into her podcast! 3. October Meditation Series

I’m thrilled to offer a 5-week meditation series this October. You can join me in person on Tuesdays from 6-7pm in Salt Lake City or on zoom, Wednesdays 5:30-6:30.

While on personal retreat last month, I sat in Dharma talks that were focused on the 5 qualities of the Buddhist teachings. One of those qualities focused on the HOW we practice, and I found this so fascinating. There are so many kinds of meditations. I teach open awareness and compassion and gratitude and object meditations and so many other varieties. But a thread that moves through all of them, is what is happening in the background. What is the tone we are bringing to the meditation? When we catch ourselves wandering off, how does that inner voice beckon us back? With warmth or with judgement? With humor or with anger and frustration? And how does that show up in our lives outside of mindfulness practice? Meditation is an opportunity to make more space to explore that inner voice, to make friends with it and to coax it towards love and self-acceptance,

Join me as we practice meditation with an intention to soften the tone we take with ourselves so that our mindfulness practice begins to support a friendlier and more compassionate relationship with ourselves.

And to kick it off, I'm offering a daily morning meditation, M - F, September 23 - October 4, 9:00 - 9:20am. I’ll offer a very short teaching followed by a 10-15 minute practice that will help you jumpstart or reinvigorate your meditation practice, prepare you for the upcoming series and help you practice the concepts I teach the first week of the series.

Click below to join the interest list. I'll be sending more details soon!

I'm Interested!

If I can answer any questions about any of these offerings, let me know. I'm always happy to jump on a call and chat. I'd really love to hear from you!

Sending so much love your way.

Rachel
