Join With a Friend - We’re in it Together

Join Your Brain on Mindfulness with a friend and get $100 off - and here's why....

Doing something difficult is easier when you have support. Whether it's an exercise goal, starting a new project or a life transition, when we explore something alone, it is more stressful (and less fun) than when we have someone to share it with. Consider this for a moment...

Think about something difficult you're trying to do right now. Are you in it alone? If so, could you enlist a friend or partner to help you? Notice whether it feels more or less stressful when you imagine having support.

Research shows:

  • Feeling connected and supported greatly reduces our stress levels and positively affects our health.

  • When we feel that our struggles are shared, we are more resilient; we feel more capable and ready to take on our challenges

  • Loneliness increases stress.

  • Relationships of all kinds decrease stress. That’s true of both the deep connections we have with family and close friends as well as the more casual relationships we have with acquaintances.

  • Strong relationships are among the top markers for happiness.

Today more than ever, we need to build connections!

As we are learning how to live with this pandemic, a key to our mental and emotional success is to lean into our communities.

This is why Your Brain on Mindfulness is embedded with support and opportunities to build relationships.

  • We'll have five one-hour community classes on Zoom. These one hour classes include group meditation, discussion, intention setting, sharing in small breakout groups and connecting with accountability partners. These live connections will leave you feeling more connected to the community and engaged with the practices and techniques you're learning.
***Zoom classes will be recorded in the event that you can't make it.

  • Accountability buddies (optional). You'll be paired with another student so that you can help one another stay on track. What this looks like is up to you. It can range from a daily or weekly text with a thumbs up or thumbs down to a weekly check in call to share more deeply. It's completely up to you and your partner.

  • Your Yoga: a Virtual Community. You'll have access to Your Yoga throughout the 8 weeks (optional). As we move through the course, I'll offer the same themes in my Your Yoga classes. I find that this full body experience creates more opportunity for transformation and connection.

  • Personal attention. I am always one email, phone call or video chat away. I’ll be available throughout the week to answer questions and offer support.

And because I want to support you in strengthening your community connections, when you join with a friend you’ll each get $100 off! Just enter "COMMUNITY" in the "have a coupon?" box.

If I can answer any questions, please reply to this email. I’d love to talk to you about whether this course is right for you. And if finances are an issue, let's talk about that as well. Scholarships are available.
