Your Brain on Mindfulness is not about getting rid of the stressors in your life. We all know that’s impossible. We also know that sometimes we get really frustrated or angry about things and the next day, that same thing doesn't bother us at all.
It’s all about the state you’re in when the stressor is coming at you. And it generally boils down to how you answer questions like these:
Do you feel anxious or calm?
Are you filled with self-doubt or self-compassion?
Are you feeling scared or safe?
Are you aware of your mind/body experience or are you checked out?
How you answer these questions often determines whether your "to-do" list makes you feel overwhelmed or motivated and excited. But feeling calm, self-compassionate and safe takes some work, and that's where mindfulness comes in.
The key is to come at stress from different angles because there is no one-size fits all solution to stress reduction.
There is no magic prescription!
Sometimes we need to build our stores of self-compassion, sometimes, we need to work with practices that take us out of our fight/flight/freeze response and calm our nervous system and sometimes we need to track the underlying patterns that got us here in the first place.
Your Brain on Mindfulness is a unique approach to stress reduction that takes YOUR mind/body/brain into account.
You’ll explore a comprehensive range of practices that will help you gain understanding and perspective so that you can get grounded and embrace your life.
